— Your midwife —
Hi! I'm Tam.
So why should you trust me to educate you on one of the biggest transitions of your life?
It’s such an important question - and I’m really glad you asked it, or at least paused to think about it.
HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOU
— A little about me —
A midwife professionally, a mum personally
I’m a registered Australian midwife with real-life experience supporting hundreds of women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum - and I'm also a mum of two myself. Which means I really get it, both professionally and personally.
I have a deep passion for helping women feel calm, informed and confident as they prepare for birth and beyond, using evidence-based education delivered with warmth, care and absolutely no judgement.
From guiding women through the realities of hospital birth, to helping them understand their options, advocate for themselves and prepare for postpartum in a realistic and supportive way - this is the work I do every single day. And I love it.
And it matters. Because your birth and postpartum experiences stay with you forever.
Before creating Nurtured Beginnings Maternity, I worked across multiple models of care within the hospital system, supporting women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I’ve seen what happens when women feel informed and supported - and I’ve also seen how overwhelming, blindsiding and disempowering the experience can feel when they don’t.
While balancing work within the hospital system and mum life, I get to bring all of that experience together to support women like you - helping you feel heard, respected and prepared as you step into one of the biggest transitions of your life.
And now, I am here to help you.
— What I want for you —
My hope for every woman I teach is to feel
Calm. Confident. Supported. Trusting yourself and your body.
I believe every woman deserves access to kind, balanced, evidence-based birth and postpartum education - without scare tactics, pressure or one-size-fits-all advice. Education that allows you to take control of your experience and make decisions that feel right for your unique family.
Being part of this journey with women and families is not something I take lightly. It’s my passion, my purpose and truly a privilege.
— A love note from me to you —
I know how you prepare can shape your whole experience
How you feel, how confident you are, how supported you feel walking into one of the biggest moments of your life - and whether you look back on it as a positive experience or not.
You can’t feel calm or confident if you don’t understand what’s happening, what your options are, or how to advocate for yourself when it matters.
But I also know it’s not easy.
The information feels overwhelming.
Everyone has an opinion.
So much of it is fear-based, biased or never explained in a way that makes sense.
I know you don’t want to spend your evenings doom-scrolling, feeling more anxious than when you started, or wondering if a positive hospital birth is even possible. I know you don’t want to feel confused, unprepared or scared, or worry that decisions will be made for you rather than with you.
And since you’re here reading this today, I know two things. First, you’re looking for some help and support. Hi, I’m here for you. And second: you care deeply about your baby. You want to feel informed, calm and confident. You want to walk into birth feeling prepared, not fearful.
I get it. Truly. And I’m here to help you make that a reality.
My knowledge, my experience as a midwife and a mum, and my calm, evidence-based approach are here for you. From online birth and postpartum education courses, to practical planning tools, done-for-you resources and ongoing support you can return to whenever you need - everything I create is designed to help you feel supported, informed and empowered for birth and beyond.
And one more thing. I’m here to do this in a way that’s realistic for busy parents - accessible, self-paced and without adding more pressure to your already full plate.
You don’t have to do this alone.
I’m here for you, Tam
- Here is the thing -
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Everyone has different values and every family is unique, and that's okay.
All positive experiences start with preparation. Planning and education will empower you to take charge of your experience and set you up for success. That is where I can help you.
— What we stand for —
These values sit at the core of everything
From my online courses to my planning tools and resources.
01
Always evidence-based
Everything I teach is grounded in trusted research, not opinions, trends or "just how it’s always been done". With so much conflicting advice floating around online, and even in some other birth classes, it’s hard to know what’s actually safe or right for you. Just because it’s shared often doesn’t mean it’s accurate.
As a registered midwife I translate complex research and clinical guidelines into practical, easy-to-understand guidance, without the medical jargon or fear-based messaging. You’ll always get the full picture - risks, benefits, pros and cons - explained in a calm, clear way you can actually use.
No scare tacticsNo sugar-coatingNo hiding information

02
Balanced, with no agenda and no one right way
I don’t believe in pushing a particular type of birth or postpartum experience. Some education focuses only on natural birth. Other education focuses heavily on hospital policies and medical interventions. I believe you deserve both, because birth often happens in the middle and every situation is unique.
That’s why I teach the physiology of birth and the realities of the hospital system, so you understand all of your options, and can build a toolkit that supports your values. I’ll teach you how to weigh information, ask questions and decide what feels right in the moment - prepared for what you hope will happen and for the what-ifs, without fear or pressure.
03
Woman-centred and judgement-free
Your body. Your baby. Your experience. Always.
I don’t have an agenda and I don’t measure success by how you birth. There’s no ideal birth and no expectations, just compassionate, woman-centred care that empowers you to trust yourself.
I honour you as the expert in your own experience, creating space for you to feel heard, validated and truly supported. My role is to provide the evidence, guidance and support, then trust you to decide what’s right for your family. You are in the driver’s seat, always. And I treat you the way I’d want to be treated, with the same kindness and care I’d want for myself.
