Sometimes pregnancy just sucks!

- Pregnancy
Pregnancy isn’t always glowing skin and magical moments. For some, it’s relentless nausea, sleepless nights, or a body that feels completely foreign. And let’s be honest - sometimes, it’s just really hard.
You might feel guilty for not loving every moment or frustrated that others don’t seem to understand. But here’s the thing: You are not alone. Many pregnant people find it difficult, overwhelming, and far from the dreamy experience they expected.
✔️ It’s okay to struggle.
✔️ It’s okay to not love every second.
✔️ It’s okay to prioritise yourself and just focus on getting through.
When I found out I was pregnant, I was so excited. It was what I had always wanted and working in maternity, I couldn’t wait to experience this journey for myself. But reality hit hard. Crippling nausea and vomiting took over my entire pregnancy (until the day he was born). There were days I couldn’t move, couldn’t keep anything down, and couldn’t even imagine making it to the next day. I would just lie in bed, praying it would end soon.
I felt guilty for not loving pregnancy, especially because it was something I had always wanted. I thought I should handle it better, that I should be more grateful. But instead, I felt robbed - angry that my experience wasn’t the positive one I had imagined.
If you’re feeling this way too, please know you’re not alone. It’s okay to grieve the pregnancy you hoped for, to feel frustrated, or even angry at the challenges. And it’s okay to hold space for both the love for your baby and the struggle you’re enduring.
I made it through and have so much love for the baby that my body worked so hard to grow. You will make it through as well, I know it doesn’t feel like it but you will make it out the other side.
Whatever you’re feeling is valid, and you’re doing an incredible job growing a little life - even on the hard days.
You’re not alone
All the best,
Tam xx
