Nighttime Scaries! Navigating the night with a newborn.

Do you dread nighttime with your newborn? If so, you’re not alone!
I can’t even count the number of times I felt that way myself. The anxiety of what’s to come would start creeping in as the sun set.
The unknowns would swirl around in my head:
How many times will the baby wake? How much sleep will I actually get? Will they want to feed all night?
I found myself counting down the hours until sunrise because somehow, everything just felt easier in the daylight.
The thought of facing another sleepless night all by myself was overwhelming and isolating.
But here’s the thing—you are not alone. 💗
It’s completely normal to feel anxious when the sun sets, especially when your days and nights blur together in the early weeks postpartum. Nights can feel long and challenging, but know that so many of us have been there, too.
Here are a few ways to ease that bedtime anxiety:
✔️ Create a simple, calming routine before bed—for you and your baby
✔️ Accept help whenever you can—tag team with your partner or ask for support
✔️ Remember, your baby will find a rhythm (and so will you)
✔️ Get educated—knowing what to expect with newborn sleep can help reassure you that what you’re going through is normal (that’s where I can help!)
✔️ Most importantly, give yourself grace—you’re doing an amazing job!
If you’re feeling the weight of nighttime anxiety, it’s okay to reach out for support.
You’ve got this. It won’t last forever, and one day soon, you’ll sleep again. 💖
Note: If these feelings of anxiety are impacting your ability to function or become severe, this may not be normal. Please reach out to your loved ones and healthcare provider if you’re concerned. If you’re unsure where to start, reply to this email, and I can help connect you with support services.
I'm here for you,
